"Practice Intellect Humility – it is recognizing that what you do not know will always be greater than what you do know.”| Are You a Serial Dieter? |

Insanity There are thousands of diets out there and most of us have tried a couple of them if not more and sometimes we may have lost the weight and kept it off and other times we may have gained it all back again. Sound familiar. Yet we keep trying to find that magic diet. I started dieting when I was only 15 years old and I remember going on a diet because I had gained 35 pounds and had reached a dress size of 14. The only thing I remember eating is cottage cheese for breakfast and baked ground beef for lunch and supper. YUCK! I lost some weight, but also gained some back. While in University, I was still obsessed about my weight and found this new system that incorporated herbal pills and I remember visitng my mother in Kenya and she kept telling me to stop shoving pills into my mouth and eat. This new system worked as well and I lost weight, but only to gain it all back after a year and even more because of my unhealthy eating habits and working 14 hour days. I remember getting invited to a wedding and realizing that none of my clothes fit me. I was so upset and got so emotional that I threw the clothes I was holding on the floor and asking "why" over and over again. My answer came in 2001 when a couple of co-workers helped me make a lifestyle change and I have been at my desired weight for the last 7 years (not included my maternity years)! Looking back, I realize that most diets work as a quick fix or that is how we perceive them in our subconscious mind. Yet we are not trained to make a lifestyle choice with our eating habits. Most diets do not coach you on replacing your limiting beliefs around your weight and image. Did you know that the diet industry is a million if not billion dollar industry and in my opinion they mess up your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind stores memory patterns. Therefore, when we diet then pack on the pounds later, diet again...pack on the pounds again, we are informing our subconscious mind that we have failed...again, and then we convince ourselves that we cannot release the weight. In my new program "Release the Weight" we teach you how to program your subconscious mind and here is a tip: go see a hypnotherapist or buy a Hypnosis CD on weightloss. In my next month's article I am going to tell you about the Hunger Meter and a strategy that thin people have in common. |
